December 19, 2025

As we wrap up another massive year, it’s time to take a look back at what 2025 brought us here at Astley Electrical. From team milestones and new hires to standout projects and industry recognition, this year was full of proud moments, some expected, and a few that caught us by surprise (like a four-legged visitor stuck on-site).

Here’s your official Astley Electrical 2025 recap.

Growing the Team

One of the biggest wins this year has been the growth of our team, both in size and strength.

We were stoked to welcome Michael, Jye, and Rory to the crew. Each of them brings a great attitude, solid skills, and the kind of values that match what we’re about here at Astley.

On the apprentice front, we saw real progression this year:

  • Ryan stepped up into his 3rd year, continuing to show real promise and professionalism on site.
  • Arlen and Ben K both progressed into 2nd year apprenticeships, keen as ever, and always ready to learn.

We also said farewell to Sarah, who’s been a huge part of the back-end operations. We wish her all the best in her next chapter. And to keep things running smoothly, we were lucky to bring Alison into the team, she’s hit the ground running and is already making a difference.

Celebrations, Podcasts & Milestones

While we worked hard, we made time to celebrate too.

In January, we kicked things off with a BBQ breakfast at Coogee with the team and their families, a great way to start the year, connect outside of work, and share a few laughs over bacon and egg rolls.

2025 also marked a couple of big personal milestones:

  • Miles turned 61 (and swears he’s still faster on-site than the younger blokes).
  • He also featured on a podcast episode with Nicole Cox from Tradies in Business, sharing the Astley story and some hard-earned business lessons.

We also got our first taste of the Tradiepreneur Masters Intensive and travelled to Hobart for the Tradies in Business Conference, where we proudly brought home the Smooth Operator award, a nod to the systems and consistency we’ve built into the business.

Setbacks, First Aid &… a Dog?

Of course, no year is without a few challenges. Miles was out of action for a while with an injury which kept him off the tools, but not out of the loop. He might’ve been limping, but he was still checking site standards.

We also had a moment to remember when a dog got stuck on site. Don’t worry, he was safely rescued, a bit shaken, but wagging his tail by the end. Just another day at Astley Electrical.

On a more serious note, the team completed First Aid training, making sure we’re equipped to respond in case of an emergency, on-site or off.

Projects and Partnerships

2025 was a strong year for project delivery and long-standing partnerships.

We continued our collaboration with Taniko Constructions, Bellevarde Constructions, Virtue Projects and Kingfisher Building, continuing to deliver top-tier electrical services on high-end builds. One standout was the Dover Heights project with Bellevarde, which we wrapped up to a very happy client.

These partnerships continue to grow because we value clear communication, attention to detail, and doing things right, every time.

Looking Ahead to 2026

There’s plenty to look forward to in 2026. We’re in the early stages of planning our 20-year anniversary, which is a huge milestone for the business and for Miles personally.

We’re also preparing for an office move, with plans already underway to make our new home base more functional and future-ready. More details to come in the new year.

That’s a Wrap

From team wins to project completions, from podcasts to pet rescues, 2025 has been a year to remember.

To our team, clients, partners, and supporters, thank you for being part of the Astley journey. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and even more excited for what’s coming next.

Here’s to a safe, productive, and electric 2026.
